Goodbye, Tristan. We'll miss you.

Tristan crosses the Rainbow Bridge this morning. As painful as this is, to see him so incapacitated, so confused, struggling so hard just to stand, soiled because of this inability, it is the right thing. He no longer has the dignity he so deserves. He was, and is, a regal dog. I hoped God would call him home, but Dr. Costa said his heart was strong. So we must do the unbearable, the unthinkable, the most painful, but the most loving thing we can do. My Tristan, I will miss you. Now you can run and play with your pal Gracie. She’s waiting. -Mom/Nana

How does one eulogize a dog? How can one possibly total up the "tail wags", the adoring looks at meal time, and the patience waiting for the smallest morsel of food. Over the past eleven years, Tristan had been the epitome of the faithful companion. Now, he lays there, his body riddled with cancer, having no desire to eat or drink. And we all wait. -Pop/Boompa

An older Tristan pic, I'm not even sure from when.

The second photo in the series, with Tristan in his crate, was taken around the time of his first birthday, or there about. The crate was in the lower family room, in the inner corner by the stairs up. You can see that we still had the wood flooring there.

The photo shows up how he looked at that time; all ears and legs. He looked much like a teenager at the same stage of life.
