What a Difference 8 Weeks Make
It was 8 weeks ago, yesterday, that Winston made the 10+ hour journey from Kansas to Western Springs, Illinois. He kinda looked like this when he arrived:

Having had to suffer the necessary indignity of a "Buzz Cut" after he was rescued, Lee thought enough hair had grown back to justify a trip to a groomer. This we did last Thursday.

We think he "cleaned up" quite nicely. He really fits into our home perfectly.

This is half of what his job is around here. That is, he lies around and keeps his eyes on things.

Keeping his eyes on things requires him to spend a great amount of time checking on "his" yard. What could be holding his attention like this??

Editor's Note: The photographer is a putz. Had he gotten a little lower with his butt, you could have seen the entire creature that was holding Winston's attention. Instead, all you see is the tail of a squirrel sitting on the deck's railing.
Pay no attention to the editor. I think it's a great photo of the tail.

While Winston treats me just fine, he has special affection for the lady that walks him daily and feeds him twice a day.

Finally, I can't recreate the head shot that began this post. However, this one is close and I think you can see from his eyes
that Lee and Larry have been doing right by him. Bless all that made his trip here possible.
Editor's Note: The Editor agrees!
