The Halloween Open House @ L8N & Bee's

These are just a couple of photos to share the moment. Other photos were taken, and I hope those are added to the site as well.

Mom was dressed as the Wacky Professor, and I was once again attempting to emulate Emmett Kelly. (I forgot I had my glasses on!)

Angie, Jack, and Lou arrived as "Marilyn Monroe", Jack was dressed as "Curious George", and Lou was George's owner, "The Man In The Yellow Hat".

Our hosts were dressed as some kind of "Woods Nymph" complete with wings, and L8N was some wierd cortoon character from kids TV. While us older people didn't have a clew about his costume, I'm told that young people pick up on it immediately. Go Figure.

Once again, Bee outdid herself with the decorations. A mere sample of her work was the bathroom.

Lee and I enjoyed ourselves. It was nice to sit around, nibble on the various "munchies" and sip some of the potables that Bee had prepared. It was also nice to meed more of their neighbors, and friends from the Berwyn area.

A Day In The Life, Visiting Granny's House

Thinking that we might watch a video before lunch, I looked and looked but couldn't find any Einstein flicks -

After Grandma fed me my lunch and changed my dydee, we all decided to go for a walk to the Ridgewood Park. Gramps took me on "a big boy" swing. Guess who had the most fun?

I have difficulty expressing myself to gramps, but he finally understood that I really wanted to solo -

Then, Grandma and Gramps wanted me to enjoy this pretend race car. Since I couldn't explain what I wanted, I just acted out, "Weeee! I'm a Charioteer!"

On the way back home, Grandma and Gramps introduced me to some strange critters currently living on their front lawn. First was the pun'kin with his feline friend ...

... and there were these others that I think look like grandma and gramps when they're having a bad day ... except gramps looks too skinny!

If I don't see you at the party given by Onkel L'8 and Tante Bee, then I wish you
A WONDERFUL AND HAPPY HALLOWEEN ... BOO!

It's Friday!

USO Gala

Here is a quick picture from the USO Gala Sabine and I went to last night (Saturday, 10/22). It was a fun night. The guest of honor was the Gunny himself, R. Lee Ermey.

Pritzker Military Library 2005 Gala

Per Mom's request, here is a picture of Bine and me from the Prizker Gala that was held two weeks ago. It was a nice time. Tonight we are going to the U.S.O. Gala at Navy Pier. Since it's not our gala, I don't have to work. We can relax and enjoy ourselves with some coworkers from the library.

The Colors of Autumn

From October 13th thru the 16th Lee and I traveled to Renz's new home in the woods outside Marquette, visited, attended hockey games (not mom), enjoyed the wonders of God's Autumn pallet, and safely returned home.

The photos contained in the real estate listing truly didn't do justice to what we actually found. Unlike others in Marquette that have a home in town and then a "camp" in the woods for the hunting seasons, Renz has both rolled into one. His home has the rustic charm of a camp, but it is his home, and is only 15 minutes from downtown Marquette.

At the extreme left of his house is the sauna, and at the right of the picture is his greenhouse. Coming down the driveway is Tristan, followed by neighbor dogs Max and Moss, followed by Lee with Gracie on a leash. Tristan got to run free with the neighborhood dog pack. It was wonderful to watch.

Standing in front of his house and looking up, you see the colors of autumn in the tree's canopy.

Through the trees, you can barely see the home of Renz's nearest neighbor.

Looking down Maple Road from Renz‚'s driveway, the foliage almost forms a tunnel over the road.

The stop sign where Maple Road intersects Mangum Road, 2/10 of a mile from Renz's house. Another sample of the colors at their peak.

The colors across Mangum Road. Even under a cloudy sky, these colors are breath taking.

Our reverie while absorbing the wonder of the colors, was punctuated by the discharge of shotguns being fired. It's bird season.
