Thanksgiving 2006

We had a great Thanksgiving gathering in Western Springs this year. Uncle Stan, Aunt Dawn, Geoff and Yukiko, Uncle Mike, and Aunt Maggie all joined us for a holiday feast. The food was delicious and a nice time was had by all.

Enough relaxing! Let's get to work...

Chicago International Toy and Game Fair 2006

This year the Chicago International Toy and Game Fair (or CHITAG) was at a new location and date. Instead of Navy Pier over Labor Day weekend, the fair was held in Schaumburg in November (Nov. 17-19). My understanding is they wanted to get closer to the holiday shopping season, and parking at Navy Pier was too expensive. I don't know if it was the new location, the new date, or something else, but it wasn't as good this year. They seemed to be putting more focus on the Toy rather than the Game. But Andrew, Sabine, and I did enjoy ourselves for the most part. There are worse ways to spend a Saturday.

Here, Sabine is doing her best Pirate impression while we try out the game, Buccaneer.

Andrew ponders his next move while we try out the game, Niagara.

Bine playing Niagara.

Leighton and Andrew playing Niagara.

Leighton enjoying the shrunken heads of Ernie and Bert from the game, Fiji.

Sabine, extremely amused by the Armor of God PJs.

Leighton and Andrew pose with the Exclamation Point and Envelope. We're still trying to figure this one out. It's something to do with College Illinois, prepaid college tuition.

Autumn Wagon Ride

Riding in the wagon in the Autumn is so much more work than during the summer.

That cool Autumn air makes you want to just hibernate.

Halloween fun

Dress rehearsal... trying on the toolbelt. No pants required.

Getting artistic.

Yay - trick or treating! Basically our afternoon consisted of visiting with neighbors while Jackson repeated the word "candy" over and over. :-) We had a ball!!

Burrrrrrr, those cheeks are getting red. Time to go inside. Hope everyone had a happy halloween!
