Lazy Sunday

Hope everyone is having a nice lazy Sunday. We have absolutely no desire to go out in this weather we're having. Our power kept going off and on last night. Spring can't get here soon enough for me.

Jackson's First Haircut

Just a little off the top please.

Between being able to sit in a jeep, and watching a Thomas DVD, this haircut thing was a piece of cake.

And afterwards, they fed me cheese. Life is good.

You wonder what we do all day?!

Jackson and I keep busy with trips to the library, reading, Wiggleworms (music class), trips to Jumpin Gyminee (gym class) at the Y, and visits to Nana and Boompa's house, but a lot of our time is spent like this...see below. We're lucky - we have some fun-filled days! It will be nice when the weather improves - we can't wait to stroll over to the park again.

Livy's Vacation In Western Springs

While Sara and Tom visited Laura and Rubén in Vero Beach and then went on to a business conference in Fort Lauderdale, Olivya got to spend a week with her Illinois grandparents. On Wednesday, February 7th, Jack came to visit with his cousin.

Although much time was spent playing with toys, they also spent time showing off their respective favorites. Livy showed off Sesame Street DVDs, while Jack touted Bob The Builder and Thomas The Tank Engine DVDs.

On those occations when toys were being played with, it would sometimes sound like the Sea Gulls in Finding Nemo; "Mine! Mine!! Mine!! Mine!! ..."

Then, on another day, there was the time when both Livy and Gracie needed a brief time out.

Livy didn't think it fair that her toy doll could sleep in the tiny bed so she tried it out for herself.

There were three heros who assisted Grandma Lee with keeping Livy occupied. The first was Elmo and his friends,

then there was Livy's soul mate, Gracie. I think that Livy thought she was a snuggly toy dog.

Finally, there was her fondness for the "Big Guy". He would pay back her attention by washing her face from chin to forehead with one big lick.

When she departed today for Madison, she left with better knowledge of her Illinois grand- parents, and they of her.

Winter Wonderland - Berwyn Edition

Here are some pics of the snow we got in Berwyn. I shoveled a little before 5pm. I'm hoping it won't be all buried again the next time I go out. The drifts really build up on the west side of the house. The sidewalk next to the house (picture 2) was one big drift before I shoveled.

Sabine's 31st Birthday

I hope she won't mind me posting these pictures. We had a small turn-out for Sabine's birthday dinner. Lou, Ang, and Jack were all home-bound. So it was just Mom, Pop, Bine, me, and our special guest sweetie-pie, Livy.

Livy really seemed to like the meal, especially the rice.

Sabine enjoyed the meal, too, but she had been sick all week so she was still a little worn out.

And I figured we should start documenting the meals, too, in case we need to go back and see what we had that we liked. Sabine chose Thai for her birthday meal, so Pop made some delicious Chicken with Bean Thread Soup (which I didn't photograph) and some Thai Shrimp and Asparagus (top) and Red Pork Curry (bottom) both of which were deelish. For desert we had Green Tea Ice Cream and some wonderful brownies, too, but if you've seen one brownie you've seen them all. ;)

Jackson's 2nd Birthday

I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds. I was holding off on posting any pictures that I took. Saturday, Feb. 3rd we had a great time at Jackson's 2nd birthday party. Here are just a few events of the day...

Jackson loved his spaghetti dinner so much, he saved some of it on his face to enjoy later.

Grandma Lee spent some time reading with Jackson while the rest of us finished our meals.

Then the fun began. Jackson got to open all of his presents.

Daddy helped him set up his new train set (You can see by the figure-eight instruction sheet that this was more confusing than was expected).

We all enjoyed some birthday cake.

And Jackson and Grandpa Ron got to play some more with the new trains.

More Jack Birthday Highlights

There's something about Aunts and cheek squeezing. It's in their DNA.

Yum... let's eat.

Cake, schmake... give me those trucks.

Making a wish...

Oh yes, I DO like cake.

Thanks everyone, for celebrating with me, and making this a special day!
