I again quote Louis and the statement he made famous in a small
restaurant in downtown La Grange, "The Torch Has Been Passed!" Grandma (Nana) and Grandpa (
Boompa) taking grandson (Jack) on the
Metra train to see downtown Chicago, and the Sears Tower,

This year, instead of cows, downtown Chicago is adorned with decorated globes of Earth. This one is just outside the entrance to the Sears Tower.

Lou phoned as we were boarding the elevator going up. On top, I phoned him back and he
requested that Jack wave to him. Looking West, Jack tried, but the smog prevented us seeing La Grange.

Nana tried
telling Jack that viewing the lake was easier using an East window rather than a south one, but Jack didn't care.

Jack then raced from window to window, dragging Nana and saying, "Come on
Boompa!"

We then played "Ride
Boompa's Foot". I think he learned this one from his
Unc.

As we were leaving the tower, we saw this tribute to some structural engineer, "... one of the greatest structural engineers of out time." I dunno! Maybe they haven't met Jack's dad.

We then walked (Jack rode) over to Daley Plaza where a Thai Festival was going on with food and trinkets being sold. Jack was more interested in the water fountain there.

Jack was able to persuade Nana that cooling off his feet was a good idea. (It didn't take too much arm twisting.)

"Hey! This is really a hoot!"

"Come on, Nana! This is really fun!"

And so again, with little arm twisting, Nana shed her shoes and socks to romp with Jack around the perimeter of the fountain.

A good time was had by all. Gee, where can we go next Wednesday?
