On November 14, we went to the
Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum which was featuring the title reptile exhibit

This was Jack and I entering the special exhibit.

One frisky
lizzard came right up to the glass when Jack pointed at it. He moved so fast that Jack quickly got his hand out of the way.

We then saw a River Monitor, a relative of the
Kamoto Dragon and much smaller. He was checking things out with his tongue and stopped when I shot the picture.

We saw a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake ...

... a Burmese Python, ...

... and a
Gaboon Viper. (This snake is known for its peculiar habit of hiding in the bushes, waiting for someone to pass by. Then it bites him right in his "
Gaboon")

The museum also had a large walk-in
solarium type room containing many foliage plants and trees, and all kinds of butterflys. One problem was that the most colorful ones wouldn't sit still for photos, but would just "flutter by".

This one was resting so I took the shot, but others were brilliant in shades of green, purple, and other shades of the rainbow.

We then saw the most frightening thing of all; a "Nana" wildly attacking the museum gift shop.
A great time was had by all. We then zipped over to see the new primate house at the Lincoln Park Zoo. Unfortunately, I forgot the camera in the car. I guess we'll just have to go there again another time.
