2008 Shamrock Shuffle 8K Race

Today was the 2008 Shamrock Shuffle 8K race. I haven't run it in a few years. The first time was in 1998 when I ran it in 39:05. I ran it again in 2000, but don't know my time off-hand. Today I ran it in 44:29. Luckily the predictions of rain were wrong. It was still fairly cold and overcast, but no rain.

Here's me and my buddy David before the race.

Here's us chilling out after the race.

The following two are pictures other people took and posted to the Internet. I didn't want to risk taking my camera on the actual run in case it did start to rain.

Here's the route of the race...

And just for grins...here's a picture from ten years ago.

Holy Saturday Lunch

Unfortunately, Boompa was so sick the Holy Saturday lunch had to be moved to LaGrange, and he couldn't attend. We're glad he's feeling better, though.

Jackson poses for his obligatory egg photo.

Audrey gets her first egg photo, as well.

Even Unc gets into the act.

Jackson shows off his bunny ears and Easter basket.

Nana appears to have "gone medieval" on the poor lamb cake.

Nana and Aunt Laura try to take a picture with Jackson.

I had a little more success.

Audrey was just chilling on the floor.

Easter Preparations

Thanks to Aunt Laura, we have some fun pictures of Jackson coloring eggs with Boompa and Nana.

Can you believe how much snow is outside, considering it's March 21st?

This picture really captures the colors of the eggs.

Maybe Boompa and Jack are giving Eskimo kisses because of all the snow.

Mad Busman Strikes Again

As he did with his Halloween "Tramp" costume, "Boompa" sought to entertain his bus students today on St. Patrick's Day.

Ready to go out the door and face the world,

Then at lunch time, dazzling the grandchildren.

An Impromptu Visit

An impromptu visit at Nanna's one Saturday led to some impromptu playing on the kitchen floor with some improvised band instruments.

Walk & Roll Chicago 2008

I signed up for the Walk and Roll this year, but I'm not planning on doing a hard sell to anyone for donations. Don't feel obligated. If you feel like it, cool. If not, that's fine, too. You can click the link to go to my Walk and Roll Donations page. I'll be doing the 15-mile bike ride again.

Side note: I'm also signed up for the 2008 Shamrock Shuffle. I'll be running five miles this March 30th, so think warm thoughts so this lousy winter goes away already.
