And, yes, I am still running...

This trip not only did I bring my running stuff with me, but I'm actually running. I'm going to try running the Western Springs 10K Tower Trot at the end of May. Here is the 4-mile route I ran today.

Robert's Birthday and Retirement Party

Hello from Germany. Sabine and I have been here since last Thursday, and it has been a really nice vacation. Saturday was the big birthday/retirement party for Robert, and it was a lot of fun. And it was a lot of eating and drinking. The event kicked off at 5pm and didn't end until 2am. There was some music by friends and family, some "readings" of some "odes to Robert", and more music by a brass band from the Czech Republic, Sextet Sestko - Josef Konečný. The party was held in the same place where Sabine and I had our German wedding reception, and Traudl did all of the decorations herself. Here are a few pictures from the party.

Nanna Makes It To Colorado

With Boompa's pneumonia, our Spring break motoring trip to visit Sara, Tom, and Livy got cancelled. That didn't stop Nanna! She flew out there on April 7th and returned on April 12th.
Mostly she did touristy things ...

She saw mountains, far away ...

She saw mountains, closer up!

She saw the local Elks Club, having a lunch break.

She did "Nanna" type things, like introduce Livy to the wonderful world of "Finger Painting", and ...

she also went out to eat with Livy, where Liv got to eat "Mystery Food Substance" shaped like a birthday cake.

However, the greatest "Mystery" was if American Airlines would have any MD-80's available to bring Nanna home. They did and Sara hugged Nanna for coming out and visiting and wishing her a safe trip home.
